iLrn Heinle Setup Instructions

iLrn is an all-in-one diagnostic, tutorial, assessment, assignment, and course management system. Many universities across the United States have started using iLrn as a course and curriculum supplement. Your German instructor may require you to sign up for an account, but don’t worry, its free and easy.

  1. To setup your iLrn account start by going to ilrn.heinle.com

  2. Once you’re on the iLrn home page click on the green “login” button.

  3. Then click on the blue “students” button in the bottom right hand corner.

  4. Click on the “create a new account” link.

  5. Now fill out the form with your information and submit it.

  6. There should be a pamphlet (roughly 7.5″ x 4.5″) included with your text book that has a unique Book Key in it. The Book Key will be about twenty characters long including both letters and numbers. Enter the code then press “go”.

  7. Book Keys can only be used once. Verify that you are in your account before you use the key to attach your course book to the account. Make sure it says, “Welcome, [your name]” with the correct spelling in the upper left hand corner. Click the box in the lower left hand corner to verify that the registered owner name is correct, then submit.

  8. Now that you have created and validated your iLrn (Quia Book) account, it’s time to acces the classes you’re taking. To do this you need to enter the Course Code provided by your instructor. Usually this is on Blackboard.

  9. After you enter the Course Code you’re all done. Now you can access all the features and tools that come with your new iLrn account. The navigation bar for each of your courses will be at the bottom of that course’s profile.
